DECIDE TO LEAD AND RULE
I was just chatting with a friend about helping him get started with building his online brand. I’m talking complete start up as far as selling online, even though he has an established business and personal brand, and is extremely credible; even known.
What he said was a version something so many people say to me – I’d say all of them, in fact! – when they’re first considering truly getting their message out, ‘daring’ to make money for who they are or in any way show up as a leader online.
“What’s going to make me different from all the other XXXX out there? I don’t know why anybody would really want to follow me or what I’d even talk about or sell anyway!”
Perhaps you’ve felt this way at some time
What this is? This is not about what would I talk about, what would I say, what would I sell. Sure, we probably DO need to have that conversation, but honestly what this is about?
Confidence, self-belief, and OWNING it, all these things are a mindset and a choice.
Think about it like this:
What are you already absolutely KNOWN at being a rock-star at? Perhaps there’s something you completely own and rule in business, in fitness, maybe it’s your style, your hair, the way your home looks, your ease at meeting new people, WHATEVER.
Pick something that you flat out know you rock at and you ALSO know you’re the BEST.
EVERYBODY knows you’re the best at this thing. You know they know it. They know you know they know it. The WHOLE FUCKING WORLD knows that the REST of the whole fucking world knows it. You RUN that area, and it would never enter your mind to question otherwise, so THEREFORE, what do you do?
Well – you ACT like you run it. You act like you’re in charge! You ACT like you’re the best. I don’t mean from ego, I just mean from the fact that it’s a fucking fact that you’re the best, that everybody sees you that way, and so that therefore you actually?
Have a responsibility to continue to show up that way. You KINDA have a job, almost, of bringing it in that area. Which means that even though mostly you just do it naturally and without thinking about it (because duh you ARE the best!), sometimes when you don’t feel like it or even when you (be honest now!) DOUBT yourself in that area you STILL HAVE TO BRING IT.
And so you do.
And so you retain your status at being the BEST.
Building a powerful personal brand online and becoming famous for what you do and for who you ARE, is exactly.the same.fucking.thing.

God’s honest truth:
I woke up one day, realised I didn’t like the fact that I WASN’T, and decided to lead and rule.
I said to myself, exactly like this:
“I’m just going to run this thing. I’m going to be the fucking leader here”.
Done.
Fucking.
Deal.
How long did it take for me to start to see and receive feedback that others were seeing me as this new me I’d appointed myself as?
About 4-5 weeks.
And it’s just gone on and on from there.
Of course I’d always BEEN a leader in every area of my life I gave more than an ounce of attention to.
I’m a WINNER baby, plain and simple. I’m always at the top. If I’m not it means I don’t care about it. I’m USED to people looking to me. It’s always BEEN THAT WAY.
But isn’t that –
Exactly the same –
As how it’s always been for YOU?
I’m not here to try and tell people who are NOT born to lead and rule how to lead and rule BECAUSE THEY CAN’T.
I’m speaking to you AS the leader who you know you are.
And I’m telling you:
Step the fuck up.
Because you can.
Because it’s just a DECISION.
Because the world is waiting.
Because you DESERVE it.
Because you were BORN for it.
Right?!
Right.
So with my friend just now, on the one hand I COMPLETELY get that if you don’t know the online world, how to brand, be seen, etc, of COURSE it’s daunting and of course you definitely do need somebody to guide and support you on the ‘what to do’ side of things.
But the first thing you need, and ACTUALLY the only thing that will dictate your success, is you need the attitude and mindset of a fucking warrior.
You need to DECIDE to lead and rule.
You need to go to the END game.
You know that whole exercise I just got you to do around identifying an area you already lead in? Imagine if you already felt the same way about who you in THIS area.
Imagine if the world already saw you and knew you that way!
Imagine if you had a fucking RESPONSIBILITY to CONTINUE to show up that way!
Imagine if it was your actual IDENTITY.
You have a powerful identity already in the things you own and rule. All you need to do is apply that mindset of certainty and THIS IS WHO I AM over to this new area.
And then act accordingly.
All I did, really, to get here?
Was decide to be the best.
And acted accordingly.
It’s actually all I continue to do, every day.
I see what I do now as my role, my identity, it’s hands down who I AM, I do have a responsibility to YOU and the rest of my audience with my daily content, it’s EXPECTED of me to create and sell and push and show UP, that’s all TRUE.
But once upon a time?
It was just a dream in my head.
To get here –
I stopped dreaming about how.
And I simple acted –
As though it was already done.
What if today –
You decided to do the same?
What if today –
You decided to show up as a leader?
What if TODAY?
You decided.
To lead and fucking rule.
It’s really not such a crazy idea, you know! After all –
BABY.
You were born for this.
