Most people simply don’t have what it takes to create their dream life. It’s incredibly sad to think about, but the truth is that most people don’t even have what it takes to start trying to create their dream life in even one area, let along persist at the idea or believe that if they choose then every single part of the way they live can be perfectly in flow and – right.
What I find even sadder is that it’s not as though these people are stuck on the merry-go-round of a normal and often oppressive life because they don’t intrinsically have what it takes. We’re all blessed with the same natural desire for passion, purpose and meaning, and certainly we all have the ability to be driven, determined and persistent enough to get there.
But.
We are conditioned.
We believe success has to be hard to come by, that ‘money doesn’t grow on trees’, and that only once we do ‘x’ and pay our dues do we deserve to enjoy ‘y’.
To enjoy our life.
What it comes down to is this –
It takes great courage to live your dreams, specifically to do so now.
Not once you’ve paid off your debt. Hit the next rung on the career ladder. Fixed up your house. Got the kids off to school or got yourself back to school.
Your dreams aren’t on hold because you can’t afford them, don’t have time, don’t have the right skills.
They’re on hold because you haven’t yet chosen to live them.
You can tell yourself that it just isn’t possible yet (or maybe you tell yourself it just isn’t possible at all!) all you like, but the truth is that that’s just your belief right now. A belief you have chosen and one you have the power to change anytime.
Do you have the courage to live your dreams now?
Can you imagine waking up every morning feeling incredibly excited about the day ahead? Every single morning? Feeling like you are just always in flow. Alignment. That everything is as it should be; in fact that everything is just like you always dreamed you’d one day have it?
And can you imagine that happening right away?
I said that most people don’t have what it takes to live their dreams.
It’s not quite right. The truth is most people aren’t willing to believe they have what it takes.
You have a choice. Live by excuses, follow the shoulds and musts and get everything done. Or –
You’ve heard all the hype (and well-founded hype it is) about omega-3, and you know what you should be doing to add more of this essential fatty acid into your diet, but it’s sometimes easier said than done, isn’t it? After all, there’s only so much salmon and oily fish a person can eat besides
I’m having a busy week this week with my schedule chock full of coaching, teaching, workshop planning and (the biggie!) designing my website and brand makeover. I very much want to just start sharing details of what is in store with my biz and this community, but I know from experience that I’ll probably change
Guest post by Sarah Wilson I’ve confessed to this before (on twitter, in Cosmo): I have this thing where I have to eat before I go to bed. Doesn’t matter how sustaining dinner was. I have to snack. Honey on rice toast. Toasted nuts with cinnamon ticks many wrong boxes and doesn’t do great things
You know how whenever you go on holiday you make all these grand resolutions about how magically different your life will be once you return? I’m sure I’m not the only one who does this. For me this, the impending transformation of my life and over-packed schedule is something I daydream about even on a
