Most people simply don’t have what it takes to create their dream life. It’s incredibly sad to think about, but the truth is that most people don’t even have what it takes to start trying to create their dream life in even one area, let along persist at the idea or believe that if they choose then every single part of the way they live can be perfectly in flow and – right.
What I find even sadder is that it’s not as though these people are stuck on the merry-go-round of a normal and often oppressive life because they don’t intrinsically have what it takes. We’re all blessed with the same natural desire for passion, purpose and meaning, and certainly we all have the ability to be driven, determined and persistent enough to get there.
But.
We are conditioned.
We believe success has to be hard to come by, that ‘money doesn’t grow on trees’, and that only once we do ‘x’ and pay our dues do we deserve to enjoy ‘y’.
To enjoy our life.
What it comes down to is this –
It takes great courage to live your dreams, specifically to do so now.
Not once you’ve paid off your debt. Hit the next rung on the career ladder. Fixed up your house. Got the kids off to school or got yourself back to school.
Your dreams aren’t on hold because you can’t afford them, don’t have time, don’t have the right skills.
They’re on hold because you haven’t yet chosen to live them.
You can tell yourself that it just isn’t possible yet (or maybe you tell yourself it just isn’t possible at all!) all you like, but the truth is that that’s just your belief right now. A belief you have chosen and one you have the power to change anytime.
Do you have the courage to live your dreams now?
Can you imagine waking up every morning feeling incredibly excited about the day ahead? Every single morning? Feeling like you are just always in flow. Alignment. That everything is as it should be; in fact that everything is just like you always dreamed you’d one day have it?
And can you imagine that happening right away?
I said that most people don’t have what it takes to live their dreams.
It’s not quite right. The truth is most people aren’t willing to believe they have what it takes.
You have a choice. Live by excuses, follow the shoulds and musts and get everything done. Or –
Read time: 60 seconds Pssst: don’t read this if your desire to not eat cold leftovers is greater than your desire for optimal health! Did you know that re-heating your leftovers in the microwave could be causing you everything from brain damage to hormonal disruption, malnutrition, a weakened immune system and increased fat storage? According
In case you haven’t noticed, I write about a lot of different approaches to nutrition and fat loss. Make that a LOT. You’d be forgiven for occasionally wanting to bury your head in the and (or your laptop/iPad/iPhone) and wishing all the how-tos and should-dos would just go back to wherever they came from. That
“There are sooooooo many rights and wrongs when it comes to what to have for breakfast that is filling and isn’t going to chew up the quote of calories per day. I’ve heard fruit is best, then I heard oats are best and some say protein only is the way forward! Help!” Amy I’d say
If you’ve ever followed a strict diet plan for any length of time, then you know what the ‘cheat meal’ is. That longed for indulgence of forbidden foods and sweet delights. The meal you spend the entire week counting down toward. Or sometimes it’s just a sudden break in your healthy-eating armour. That moment when
