30-Minute KILLER Legs Session

I have a love HATE relationship with training my legs. I LOVE the feeling of truly smashing them … I love how lean and HOT my legs look … I love feeling the BURN and knowing I’m pushing myself in a way most just won’t, lifting super heavy and just OWNING it … in fact the only thing I really hate is the fear of doing it beforehand!

Here’s what I did today, using my somewhat limited hotel gym:

4 sets of the following, no rest between exercises, 30-60 seconds rest in between sets:

  1. Lying leg curl, toes pointed out, fast (controlled) on way up; slow on way down (8 reps per set)
  2. Alternate split squats, back foot up on bench, full depth chest up, extra 1/4 rep at bottom of each as I didn’t have any dumbells (8 reps per leg per set)
  3. 10 x full depth wide stance jumping squats
  4. 8-10 x leg extensions, fast (controlled) on way up; slow on way down

HORRIBLE AWESOME FINISHER:

10 sets of 10 reps on the seated (straight) leg press, only 10 seconds rest between sets. Awful! And awesome at the same time.

I alternated my foot position for these:

  • Sumo foot position, toes out
  • Straight feet, narrow, feet low
  • Duck stance (toes pointing inward, feet close together, heels out

I fairly fell on the floor after finishing this finisher, it was FULL FUCKING ON! I was POURING sweat which felt great as when I’d started the workout I was all wound up and a bit anxious-y and grumpy after a big day; it was a late afternoon pre-dinner workout which is not my best time to train but I wanted to get that shit HAPPENING!
