THE ONLY THING WHICH WILL WORK, IS THE WORK WHICH EXCITES YOUR SOUL
Let me tell you something that could well save you a hell of a lot of time, heartache, money and energy SPENT:
At some point, and it could be right now if you really want to be honest with yourself and choose to LIVE with the faith you SAY you have, or it could be years – and years – and maybe your entire lifetime into the future – you ARE going to realise that the only thing which is gonna work?
Is the work which excites your soul.
It’s crazy, if you think about it, how much of your life, your self, your soul, you give to all of the other stuff.
Don’t you think?
I mean, really – even if you’re STILL not ready to go all in, you do know that what we’re talking about here is true. Don’t you?
You know:
That the ego goals are just that, and at their core are INCAPABLE of giving you what you actually crave. Which is to say – fulfilment, soul unleashment, a sense of deep YES, and purpose.
You know:
That the things you chase because you think it’s COOL, or that you SHOULD, or ’cause everybody else is, and THEY must know better than YOU what you need for your life, will NEVER actually fill that hole inside of you.
You know:
That as much of 99.99% of what you’re currently giving your time and energy and focus to is NOT THE REAL WORK YOU WERE BORN TO DO.
You’re chasing a dream.
Joining dots.
Desperately trying to get shit done, build a presence or a brand, get people’s attention and get them to buy, and it SEEMS to make SENSE, that of course you have to do all this stuff, learn all these things, do it the RIGHT way, the PRETTY way, the POLISHED way, the PROFESSIONAL way, because because because THAT’S WHAT EVERYBODY IS DOING and so you just HAVE to, right?
But the problem with chasing a dream is –
It’s useful to make sure it’s YOUR FUCKING DREAM first.
And here is the thing about thinking that joining dots, and doing Things, and learning HOW, so that one day you can be the leader, the artist, the revolutionary, the messenger who you were born to be, is necessary or even REMOTELY needed:
Anything which you tell yourself you have to do FIRST, so that one day you CAN –
Is you stating – claiming! – that you’re NOT.
When you in any way put something AHEAD of your ability to just show up and be that leader | artist | next level version of you, you state that you’re not that person –
You have to try –
Or learn how –
And somehow prove your worth.
This is the normal way for people to go about reaching success, being known, standing out, living their life with PURPOSE.
The thing with the normal way, I don’t have to tell you –
Is that the result rates aren’t particularly impressive.
The thing with the normal way, you might want to face up to –
Is that it has a sneaky way of DISTRACTING you from purpose. From your soul work. From the stuff which once upon a time EXCITED you and SCARED you and THRILLED you, and you knew:
THAT is what I must do.
So you start out, with this exciting vision of WHO YOU WILL BE.
And then next thing you’re over your head trying to figure out all the shit which APPARENTLY you have to have in order to be ALLOWED to be who you are, or simply to get seen.
Meanwhile, starting to do stuff or say stuff or market stuff that’s NOT actually aligned, that’s NOT actually remotely what causes your eyes to fly wide open with excitement and joy and yes, because let’s just get REAL here:
When you start making stuff like being seen, noticed, followed, and paid, your FOCUS –
You by definition take the focus off of just doing what your SOUL said to do –
And without even noticing, your goals and the things you ARE doing or selling are being based upon the false outcome of wanting to be seen, noticed, followed, and paid.
Ego starts to take over.
Fear begins to rule you.
You worry about not doing it right.
You conform.
You settle.
And eventually –
You fade.
And through it all, the CRAZY as fuck thing is – you 100% just KNOW, deep inside of you –
That the thing which will work?
Is the work which excites your soul.
Let me tell you what I believe the MOST powerful choice any true leader, artist, messenger, creator, can make:
Take 90% of your time, your day, your energy, your focus, your words, your soul, your life:
Dedicate it to doing what excites your soul and ignore EVERY OTHER FUCKING THING AND PERSON AROUND YOU.
Use the other 10% to press publish, pause, take a breath.
Repeat.
Seriously:
All of that shit which you’re spending your time on to try and BUILD something? What the fuck are you actually going to build if there’s no message, no art, no YOU, to build it on?
There’s a funny thing which happens, when we give in to our soul and into faith and we just CREATE, the way we’re being commanded to from within.
You find out that everything you’ve been trying so hard to make happen was always available to you and actually required NOTHING of you, except for you to wake up –
And be fucking you.
QUIT DOING STUFF THAT DOESN’T EXCITE YOUR SOUL.
You’re wasting your time.
It’s NEVER going to work.
And you’re killing your life.
If you say you were born for more, to be a leader, an artist, and even to change the world, then at SOME point?
You’re going to need to stand up and live for it.
