STOP KIDDING YOURSELF ABOUT WHAT IT TAKES
EVERYBODY underestimates what it really takes to reach success, and then pretty much EVERYBODY whinges and moans about why they didn’t get what they want when they ‘did the work‘.
Would you like to know a simple way to know whether or not you DID in fact do the work, enough work, the work that worked?
Lean in close and listen CAREFULLY, because this one could be confusing!
It fucking worked.
If it did not in fact fucking work then no, sorry, you did NOT do the work, not enough work, not the work that worked!
The difference between you and anybody whose results you SO wish you had, is plain and simple:
They kept going till they got there.
Which may have been that they learned to work SMARTER, probably FASTER, more efficiently and to ruthlessly brush off any deadwood activities or people (YEP!) not propelling them along but it is also DEFINITELY because they did more work.
This is one reason why I’m so anti PLANNING for success.
You want to sit there and write out a launch plan, REALLY? Waste all this time trying to predict in advance what’s necessary to get the point across, get ’em to follow and then to buy? Feel like if you’ve written a pretty little plan then all you have to do is check things off one at a time and that 5, 6, 7 figure launch will be YOURS?
Don’t make me laugh.
Why don’t you go sit there and write yourself a weight loss plan from a woman’s fitness magazine while you’re at it, and DECIDE IN ADVANCE how your body is going to respond, what sort of nutrition is right for YOU, how one days outcomes will impact the next days requirements and choices, how to fine-tune as you go.
Makes total sense.
Except for HOW THE FUCK ARE YOU SUPPOSED TO FINE-TUNE AS YOU GO IF YOU’RE MUTINOUSLY INSISTING THAT YOU HAVE A PLAN?
And when I say fine-tune, adapt, respond, and do what is necessary, to run that launch race, tone up that fine ass, hit that 100k in 3 days goal or whatever it might be? I mean adapt, respond, do what is NECESSARY as you go.
I honestly don’t understand why people make success so COMPLEX, or get so worked up about why following some sort of STEPS based approach doesn’t work, so let me break this down for you.
— How to Be Successful, the GUARANTEED #KatSmackdown Approach to Get Anything You Want —
1. Set a CLEAR fucking target, be specific on exactly what you want and WHY (aka: set goals that are in alignment with what really matters to you)
2. Take action until you get there
Done.
Dusted.
Nothing else you need to know.
If you approached your launches like it was NONFUCKINGNEGOTIABLE to get the extra sales, all the sales, and then some, do you think maybe you’d put in more effort than if you simply try and checklist your way through what (apparently) all the cool kids online are doing?
Let me tell you that the ACTUAL cool (successful!) kids online approach selling in a very specific way, which is that they don’t turn off the hustle until it’s done.
In a practical sense, for me, if you’d like an example, this means that I may enter into the week or the day – usually the day as I rarely plan past 10am let alone for a whole day or week in advance – with some ideas about what I’m going to do to hustle today. I’ll then DO said hustle, a blog, a sales email, a livestream, etc, and as I do so I’ll pay attention:
– To my own energy and the VIBE of the thing; whether I feel like what I’m putting out there is coming across in a POWERFUL way where I know I respond.
– To what people are saying, questions that are coming up, ‘objections’ I need to deal with, the overall VIBE of my community and clients towards my offer
– And to the fucking sales numbers
If any of these things are not where I want them to be I will roll up my sleeves, dig DEEP into my mindset and core and passion and drive, give myself zero opportunity to ‘not feel like it’, or be tired or grumpy or annoyed because I already HUSTLED today, I followed the steps, and I will get back into the FRAY.
Hustle hat? ON, baby. Always on!
And here is what you need to understand:
You will ALWAYS get exactly what you expect and fully commit to. So if I want 100 sign-ups but I deep down don’t expect or believe in it, then I’m not actually even TRYING to align to 100, am I? And you can bet my ACTION taking will reflect that, and be less ‘all in’.
If on the other hand I make up my mind that 100 is what’s going to HAPPEN, it’s a done DEAL, ain’t nothing or nobody and least of all my own bullshit gonna stop me then do you think I’m going to DO MORE WORK?
A rule of thumb you can live and die by when it comes to success in ANY area, is that whatever you think it will take is maybe – maybe! – 10% of what it will actually take.
This is true in terms of how much and how from the depths of your core and TRUTH you need to message, communicate, engage, connect.
It’s true in terms of how much sales activity and follow up you need to do.
It’s true in terms DEFINITELY of how much mindset work and IMMERSION into already BEING successful you need to embody.
It’s true with business goals.
Money goals.
Getting your ass in SHIT hot shape.
Having relationships that ROCK.
Having everything, or anything, ANYTHING at all you want.
Just.
Do.
More.
Work.
If this disheartens you or it feels overwhelming or you’re tired even considering it, then you’ve severely misunderstood the game of BEING a successful person, which is to say that all you really need to do to MASTER all of this is just to BE a successful person.
BEING a success-driven person who does what it takes makes all of this EASY. There’s nothing you need to EVER do, all you need to do is get up and BE YOU.
Success is so ingrained in my blood, my heart, my soul, my core, my every thought and my very BREATH that there’s never any question of whether or not I’ll go the extra mile, or ten extra miles. I’m result fucking focused honey, haven’t I said that?
That means: I simply keep going till I get the result. Adapting, fine-tuning, learning how to go faster and release the deadwood along the way, but regardless of whether it’s something new I’m still clumsy at, slow with, feel out of my depth with BIG time, or whether it’s something I’ve done a million times before, either way I GET there because it was never an option to NOT get there, because I’ve locked myself in on that target like the fucking Terminator, like a missile, and unless I somehow stopped to reprogram myself mid-stream into being a NOT successful person then I’m just.going.to keep GOING.
Until I blow that shit up.
And make no mistake: I blow a LOT of shit up, awesomely.
It’s the same with my friends, my admired peers, my 1% within the 1% clients. We look at those who are not THIS PERSON and it’s frustrating to even try and need to explain this stuff. “Don’t you get it?!” we think – stop asking what to do and just DO WHAT IT FUCKING TAKES TILL YOU GET THERE. Just BECOME a person who does what it takes.
Become a successful person, is it really that hard?!
It’s NOT. It’s a choice, a mindset, something you can decide NOW.
So let me ask you?
Is it an OPTION for you to not succeed?
Is it an OPTION for you to stop before you get there?
Is it UP FOR DISCUSSION whether or not you’ll have the business, the money, the body, the life, ALL of it?
Do NOT fucking tell me that your success is non-negotiable if you’re still one-daying that shit, either.
I’m talking about RIGHT HERE RIGHT NOW BABY.
Your insistence that you’re going to do what it takes until it takes means JACK FUCKING SHIT if you’re not doing that today.
When your head hits the pillow tonight what is the NON-NEGOTIABLE outcome you created?
For truly successful people, our head simply doesn’t hit the pillow if we didn’t hit our targets that day.
Are you doing that?
Can you say that?
Or are you the person who insists you’re gonna get there yet goes to bed when you’re tired, stops when you lose momentum, is thrown when at first or second or one HUNDREDTH time you try and don’t succeed.
Stop making success so complex.
Decide what you want. Make it the ACTUAL shit you want as now, not some lame-ass safe version. May as well shoot for the GALAXY baby!
Take action till you fucking get there.
And if in doubt, if in ANY doubt at all?
Take whatever pretty little plan you have of what you think you need to do. Mentally multiply the effort, emotion, time and money required by 5, 10, 100x. Take said plan and throw it out the window.
